countdown to korea!

So our trip to Jekyll Island was just awesome. Of course, it was awesome going away for the weekend with my new fiancé, but I enjoyed Jekyll even more than I thought I would. We stayed at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, and the grounds were jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Our room was pretty sweet too. We went bike riding around the island—that was a total blast. We got sunburned and hung out on the beach, ate good food, and simply relaxed. It was simply wonderful.

Don’t mind RH’s squinty expression in this photo…he swears it was just the sun in his eyes. He was having fun. I promise.

After the long weekend, it was back to the hustle and bustle of the real world. And now we’re getting ready to leave for Korea in just a few short days! We’re all very excited about it. Honestly, right now, I’m most excited about taking a nice long vacation. I’m also really excited that Mom gets to see her family again, and it should be neat to see them after practically my entire lifetime of living on the other side of the planet from them. And it’s just too cool that RH gets to go with us!

We’ll definitely be taking lots of pictures and blogging when we can.

If I don’t get to check in again before I leave, the next time you’ll see me blogging, I’ll be in Seoul. Please send happy travel thoughts (and include a wish for an AC power outlet at my seat on the plane, will you? Fourteen hours is a long, long flight!). :)

September 17, 2008 - 9:23 pm wendy - you look beautiful in this picture! sooo happy

September 22, 2008 - 12:24 am Lily - aww. you both look adorable. I love Jekyll, are they still working hard to preserve the natural areas down there? It's such a lush and pretty place. :)

September 22, 2008 - 5:38 am me - I do think they are still trying to preserve areas of the island, but there's also a lot of development going on in the major hotel area. I think that, if it's done right, it will be good for the island, as right now there aren't a lot of good lodging options. It is a gorgeous place...I loved it!
