let’s get this party started

120GB FireLite to back up my entire drive: Check.

Parallels Desktop for Mac: Check.

Full version of Windows XP Professional: Check.

Unfortunately, I don’t have another gig of RAM for my MacBook Pro listed here. That will have to come later. Windows ain’t cheap.

December 24, 2006 - 3:33 am me - Most performance tests have Parallels clocking in at about 2/3 the speed of Bootcamp. I don't need the extra speed for what I'll be doing in Windows and would much rather have the convenience of working in Windows alongside my Mac apps. I also like how it's not a one-shot deal with the hard disk partition (as opposed to the way Bootcamp does it) -- I've already had to change up my partition settings and I only got it up and running a day ago. The setup went pretty smoothly but I had a problem with my MacBook Pro not reading the Windows XP install disc. So I had to install from an .iso file that a friend created for me (thanks, GE!). So far, though, I'm really liking Parallels. It's WORLDS better than the Virtual PC experience was on my PowerBook!
