    Thanks for stopping by sweetfrenchtoast!

I'm Sabrina, and I love sewing and creative DIY projects for a modern handmade life. Whether I'm sewing a new dress, baking a fresh twist on a classic dessert, or making my own barn door headboard, I'll share all the pain and glory right here on my sweet little blog. Enjoy!

“new and fulfilling”

I don’t know why I am still awake.

I got up at 2:30 a.m. this morning — rather, yesterday morning — to take my aunt to the bus station for her 5 a.m. departure.

That’s freaking early.

After I dropped her off, I went to my office with a pillow and blanket and crashed around 4:15 a.m. on the couch in the Xbox room.

I never knew the couch was so comfortable!

Anyway, I should be really tired, I suppose, but I guess it will catch up to me sooner or later.

Something nice happened to me this morning…I left the office around 8 a.m. to get an egg mcmuffin at the McD’s with the double drive-thru. The woman in the other lane and I finished ordering at about the same time, and I let her merge ahead of me into the pay-and-pick-up-your-food lane. Well, she paid for my breakfast! Isn’t that nice? I didn’t think people actually did that anymore. I’ve always liked that commercial where the girl pays for the drycleaning of the hot guy behind her, but…wait a minute…I don’t think the girl thought I was hot. Oh, nevermind. It was a nice surprise actually being the recipient of a random act of kindness.:)

On another note, I am making an effort to get out more, meet new people, and try new things. I actually have a goal (along with 70 other of my closest Internet friends:)) to “enjoy this summer by having at least one ‘new and fulfilling’ experience in June, July and August.” I think I can handle the “new” part, and I think I can also take care of the “fulfilling” part, but “new” and “fulfilling” together might be a bit of a challenge. I may have to get creative. Feel free to send ideas.:)I’ve considered trying speed dating, which would definitely be “new.” I figure at worst, I’ll have some funny stories to tell, right?

Or a stalker.

Yes, a stalker would be worse.

Now that I’ve sufficiently given myself something to have nightmares about, I’m off to bed (finally!). Goodnight!

H. (aka NC_State_gal) - Oh…how fun. I had a great time with speed dating. It kept my social calendar full every single day of the week for at least 2 months ;) . Have fun!

me - Thanks for commenting! I’ve gotten very mixed reviews from friends who have tried speed dating before. It’s nice to hear from someone who had fun with it! :)
