Aren’t these flowers sooooo pretty? I took this photo yesterday. Mom and I took a raincheck on going out for Mother’s Day since there were bound to be huge crowds. I’m taking her out for brunch sometime this weekend instead.
But there was important progress yesterday. Mom actually liked the loft community we went back to on Saturday. The problem was that they are not building the floorplan that she liked anymore. The only way we had access to see one of the older floorplans was through my friend LS, who lives there. So yesterday I had lunch with LS and, on a fluke, we went by the sales office so she could see what the new floorplans look like. I told the on-site agent, “I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that Mom actually really liked it here. The bad news is that she doesn’t like the floorplan you’re building now.”
That started a really long visit that ended up with the agent figuring out a way that my mom could basically have the exact same floorplan as LS and I could have a kick-ass floorplan for myself. I talked to Mom about it and she seems to be okay with it. So we’re going to move forward with buying two condos there. We will be neighbors — right across the way from each other. My friend JWD (the real estate agent who is selling Mom’s house for us) is going to get things going with the contract on Mom’s house. I’m so hoping that everything works out! We could use some “working out” of things these days.
