I <3 carbs

So I’ve kinda been doing Atkins for the past week or so. I am trying to lose a few pounds before my commercial shoot next week so I look svelte for the camera. (Because that thing about the camera adding 10 pounds…well…that’s true.) I cut out carbs and lost about six pounds. Then I discovered the vanilla fudge twirl ice cream in the freezer and…I’m up a pound. :(

I need to go shopping this weekend for my wardrobe, for which I (of course) have no pieces already. Oh, if you don’t have any actor friends you may not know this, but most of the time, you have to bring your own clothes to shoots. And those policemen and women who are urging you not to speed? Yeah, they’re all actors too.

Anyway, wish me luck on losing another few pounds before my shoot. I’m pleased that I’ve lost this much so far, and I wasn’t grossly overweight to begin with or anything, and I did recently have a coworker ask me if I was sick because he thought I had lost so much weight…but still. I am a girl and we can be very vain.

And even though my size 6 pants are a teeny bit loose these days…I want to fit into the cute size 2 and 4 stuff in the back of my closet again! Is that so wrong??

By the way, my favorite afternoon snack has been fresh strawberries with Splenda and whipped cream. Maybe I will have to cut those out to lose another pound or two before the shoot? Aargh…why does it have to be so hard?? :(

March 24, 2006 - 1:45 pm H. (aka NC_State_gal) - Good luck :). This is why I could never be an actress: 1) I suck at remembering lines and 2) I love food way too much. Best wishes on the commercial.

March 24, 2006 - 5:18 pm Sharon - Congratulations! You'll do great! I can certainly empathize with your efforts to lose those last few pounds. Reminds me of my modeling days when I would live on cottage cheese and water prior to a photo shoot.

March 26, 2006 - 12:50 am me - H., the funny thing about this commercial is that there are no lines. Actually, most commercials don't have any lines if you think about it...it's just a bunch of people hanging out looking really happy, like they're having the time of their lives at their favorite restaurant, or shopping at the mall, or -- in this case -- sitting on their favorite furniture. :P And Sharon -- I have been a fan of cottage cheese and fruit in the past, but I don't know if I could just do cottage cheese and water...that's the diet of a woman on a mission! Thanks to both of you for the words of encouragement! :)
