Is the four-day weekend really almost over already? Nooooooooo!
I haven’t really been anywhere since my big trip back in May/June, when I went to Beijing and Maui. I think this might be the longest I’ve gone without traveling in the past several years. I’m getting antsy.
Luckily, I am headed to Texas next weekend to visit my friend Wendy for her birthday. It should be a nice little getaway. We are going shopping at some fabulous outlet malls on Saturday on the way to Austin. I was going to take her to a really nice dinner at my favorite French restaurant ever, but I sadly read tonight that the restaurant has closed. I’m sure we’ll find something else to do. I’m hopeful we can meet up with my old college friend and roommate Marie, who has lived in Austin for years now. Sunday we’re having a spa day at one of the top spas in the country. I am having a facial and then meeting Wendy for a spa lunch. After lunch, I’m having some sort of energy balancing treatment. Energy point cleansing with Tibetan bowls. This profound treatment calls upon the wisdom of other centuries and cultures to help you feel energized and in balance. Your vital energies — your auras — and major energy points — your chakras — will be cleansed and gently energized while Tibetan singing bowls are used to promote sound and vibrational healing. Each treatment is unique.
Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.
Wendy has started getting into photography, so we have talked about maybe spending some time taking pictures while we’re in Austin. I might even finally try out the Holga that I bought the last time I was in Austin. That should be fun. And tonight she told me that it’s 80 degrees in Texas! I’m going to have to pack creatively.
I guess after this trip, I need to plan a snowboarding jaunt somewhere. I’d really like to go out west twice this year and hit the crappy NC slopes via roadtrip as weather and schedule permits, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. We’ll see. Maybe if the Tibetan singing bowls do their job, I will have the energy and balance to figure it out and make it happen.
