come into the light.

I like it, don’t get me wrong (I’m no good with photography), but there is a lack of saturation in this image. It feels as though this picture should have been a lot more brighter. It could easily be fixed in Photoshop, but I’m sure that your camera has settings to boost the picture quality, too.
Hey, Matt! I appreciate the feedback. You don’t have to be good with photography to know what looks good.
I can see what you’re saying now that I look at it again. When I try to boost the saturation in PS, whether by adjusting the saturation levels or by using curves, the center of the rose — the part that’s kinda in shadows now — starts to look really orange and a tad unrealistic. It may be my lack of PS skills, but I don’t want to lose the softness of the yellow tone, which is what happens when I give it a go. If you have any suggestions, or if you’re interested in taking a shot at it, let me know.
I’d love to work on the image! I have a few tricks up my sleeve that might produce the results you’re looking for.
I’ve e-mailed you the file. I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
what kind of camera / lense do you use?
Tinou, I took this photo with a Canon G3. I can’t remember if I had my telephoto lens attachment on, but I’m guessing I did not. I have since upgraded to a Canon G6 camera. So I’m just using a fancy regular digital — I haven’t made the leap to a digital SLR yet, although it’s on my list of eventual gadget must-haves!
was just curious. composition is more important than equipment. nice pics.
