    Thanks for stopping by sweetfrenchtoast!

I'm Sabrina, and I love sewing and creative DIY projects for a modern handmade life. Whether I'm sewing a new dress, baking a fresh twist on a classic dessert, or making my own barn door headboard, I'll share all the pain and glory right here on my sweet little blog. Enjoy!

video ipod released!

This happened, like, minutes ago.

Apple Computer Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs introduced a version of the best-selling iPod digital music player that also shows videos.

The new video iPod has a 2 1/2-inch color display and is an update of the classic white iPod, Jobs said at an event in San Jose, California, that the company had dubbed “One more thing”‘ on its invitations.

I don’t really want one though. I still want a nano.

nano

Matt Boothby - What is it about the Nano that appeals to you, other than the size and price? I mean, the ability to carry 1,000 songs (and that’s a rough estimate; bitrate and file size become factors) is tiny, in retrospect, to the original iPods.

I’d buy myself a Nano if it weren’t for the small hard drive. I will admit that I am drawn to the size. However, I can see the other side of the story, also. Some people will be satisfied with 1,000 songs. I need to be able to put my whole music collection on it, and that far surpasses the Nano’s capibilities :) .

me - I already have a 40 gig iPod, so I guess I’m looking at a nano for a pursePod, if you will. (It can keep my pursecam company — I have a Canon S400 simply because it’s easier to carry around than my bigger G6.) After having the 40 gigger for a while now, I realize that — for me — it’s not really necessary to have every single tune in my library with me at all times because I’m really only listening to a small percentage of it at any given time. I’d like a nano because of its ultraportability. It wouldn’t weigh down my purse at all…my 40 gig iPod is really heavy! And I like the fact that I could run with it with no annoying skipping — the buffering of a regular iPod every 20 minutes is a major PITA when you’re counting on some pounding choons to get you through a half marathon. I have a 3G iPod now, so I’m waiting on my class action settlement to come through before making any decisions. Oh yeah…did I mention how incredibly CUTE the nano is?! It’s just adorable and that makes it even more desirable for a gadget girl like me, of course! :)

Dave Koen - (a reply to the question asked on my website)

it was maunally coded but it is so simple to update that patience won’t even be an issue. basically, all that it is, is 4 images in a php file with links on them. then i used php to call that php page into my sidebar. and thats it! updating it consists of changing one of the images and reuploading the “recentmusic.php” page.

if you have any qustions, let me know. i too am a php novice and if i can just cut and paste some code in, i feel like i’ve accomplished something.
