it’s official

Yes, it’s official.

I am a country music fan.

I’ve won a bunch of free iTunes downloads, so I was browsing the iTunes Music Store tonight trying to spend some credits. I checked out pop, rock, folk…I followed link after link to iMix after iMix…and I ended up only downloading country music tonight.

I got a really pretty song by Jamie O’Neal (she has a very pretty voice!) and several tunes by Rascal Flatts. Their music is just great, and they are cuties to boot!

I honestly still suprise myself when I realize how much I truly do enjoy listening to country music. I don’t know how it happened, but I’d rather listen to the local country radio station than the traditional pop and rock stations. I think I just got burned out on listening to the same stuff over and over and over and over…you get the point.

Anyway, if you have always considered yourself anti-country music (as I did at one time), you might want to keep an open mind about it. I like being able to actually understand the lyrics, relate to the songs, and sing along.

I do have to say, though, that I think it would be a shame if Carrie Underwood’s debut album was just country music. She can totally rock out! I think she should do a cover album of 80s rock females like Heart and Pat Benatar…I would buy that.
