    Thanks for stopping by sweetfrenchtoast!

I'm Sabrina, and I love sewing and creative DIY projects for a modern handmade life. Whether I'm sewing a new dress, baking a fresh twist on a classic dessert, or making my own barn door headboard, I'll share all the pain and glory right here on my sweet little blog. Enjoy!

no time to pee

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to update my blog. Why? Because I’ve been having the kind of days when there is no time to pee. You know, the kind of days when you wake up thinking about work, you work all day, and then you find your brow furrowing as you walk the dog because you’re still thinking about work, and then…when you do finally sit down to update your blog…you find yourself writing about working and thinking about work.

Heh.

I saw this on Ida’s blog, and it pretty much sums it up:

work sux

Uh.

Yeah.

Work has been really stressful lately.

Did I mention that this is perfect timing to get so freakin’ busy too? Yes, that was sarcasm. Let me explain, dear readers.

  1. I have decided to get my PMP certification. This is one of those professional organization certifications that costs a lot of money and will supposedly make you well-respected in your field. People will take me seriously because I will be able to put "PMP" after my name, just like "MD." I started a course last week that was supposed to take eight weeks…but noooo, we’re apparently covering all of the material in only four weeks! So I am of course way behind on last week’s work much less this week’s work, and I find the material is a wonderful cure for insomnia.
  2. After seven years away from it, I start French lessons again on Monday. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it already or not, but I signed up a few weeks ago to take French again. My classes start this Monday, and I’ll go twice a week. I am supposed to be totally brushed up on the first several sections of my textbook, but have I had time to do that yet? Mais non.
  3. I am finally ready to get my little business venture off the ground so I have been totally distracted by that. It’s been frustrating, because there is so much I could be doing to get things moving, but I have had to drop everything and focus on getting all my work done. I haven’t had time to workout in over a week either, so I’m starting to feel gross.

I realize that you probably don’t know what I mean by "little business venture," but you’ll find out soon enough. I’m pretty excited about it, and I can’t wait to launch it, but it’s going to take some time because I want to do it right!

Anyway, I think I’m going to walk Kona and curl up with my copy of A Guide to The Project Management Body of Knowledge. Woo hoo!

Good night!
