…to share the feelings of anger, frustration and helplessness that I experienced yesterday when my external Lacie 120GB Firewire drive started clicking and whirring loudly, announcing the destruction of years of digital photos, film and slideshow source files, and other files I had not yet burned to DVD?
Yeah, I am not a happy camper.
Especially when I realize I could have retired early if I had started a data recovery business instead of choosing my current career path. $1500 - $2400 to recover my data?? I think not.
I do have to say that the past year has been one big lesson in letting go of things. I moved out of the condo I lived in for four years with Jason. In that move, plus my most recent move to a new place with Guy, I’ve tossed, donated or otherwise gotten rid of so much STUFF — stuff that took up too much room and held too little value to have such a hold in my life.
And now this.
Sigh.
