I am such a dork

So tonight I got really excited about:

  1. My new AirPort Express. I like getting cozy in bed with my PowerBook to catch up on e-mail or surf the Web, but my wireless network just barely reached into my bedroom, which is on the opposite side of my place from my office. So today I bought an AirPort Express—an open box special at the Apple Store (I saved $15…woo hoo!)—and I set it up tonight. At first I tried plugging it into the wall in my living room, but that only got me two measly bars of signal. After moving it to my hallway, I get a whopping full signal, baby! Yeah!!

  2. My optical mouse. I have one of those little Microsoft laptop mouses (mice?)—and I love it! I carry it back and forth between work and home (I should probably just get one for the office, eh?)…and I had a moment of joy when I realized it even works on my pretty, cozy quilted bedspread.

Tonight I got the final load of stuff from my condo…the place I used to live. It was weird…I didn’t expect anything from that…but the moment I closed the door on that empty place and locked it, I felt kind of liberated and emotional…as if I’d been an animal rescued and nursed back to health…only to be set free one day. I felt like I was supposed to fly off into the sky or something. It was odd, but a good, strong feeling. Now, I have tons of work to do at my new place. It mostly involves going through crap I moved from the old place…crap I didn’t have time to sort through to toss, donate, etc.—simplify!

I bought some beautiful flowers today at Costco. (That place rocks!) Having flowers around really makes a huge difference in my mood. I can take one look at my pretty flowers and they make everything else seem a little prettier, nicer, more lovely too. Maybe I’ll take a photo to post later this week.

Anyway, I need to get some work done. And I’ve got an appointment in the morning to get my knee checked out. I’m going to see the same doctor I saw when I was training for the marathon. She was great! She’s probably going to tell me the same thing she told me last time: “Your body is not made for running.”

Okay…enough rambling, Sabrina!

Just wanted to share my geeky happy moment. :P
