bye-bye weekend :(

Okay…I don’t understand why I am gaining weight when I am not doing that bad at eating right—and I’m actually working out! Ugh!

I know that today didn’t help things, but I’ve slowly been creeping up the scale for the past few days. Today was Lebbonee’s Easter brunch, and there was a lot of good food, including an excellent lasagne dish, Ugly Cake (from the recipe I shared after my little party), and a Cooking Light carrot cake that Guy and I made this morning.

It’s been a decent weekend. Friday night Guy and I went to Cirque du Soleil, and then to dinner with his family and friends to celebrate Bree’s birthday. The Cirque show was good…not great, not bad, just good. I think we’ve been spoiled by the shows in Vegas and by the last show that came through Atlanta, Varekai. Those shows were incredible. It was nice getting all dressed up and feeling like we were on a date that night. We had VIP tickets so we got to do the whole Tapis Rouge tent thing before the show and at intermission. It was an interesting crowd under the tent…I don’t know what I expected, but there were all sorts of people…a very diverse group. All at $190 a ticket, I think. Go, Cirque.

Saturday we went up to Lake Lanier and cleaned off his boat. We went to his mom’s horse farm to pick up the boat, and I got to meet her horses. I’ve never really been around horses before. They were really pretty, and so big and strong. I got to (carefully!) crawl through the electric fence and pet them. Apparently I am very allergic to them too, because I touched my eye and it swelled up into a nasty mess.

Once we got the boat cleaned off, it was too late to go meet up with Cheli and Lyn, who were also up at the lake. Guy’s dad drove us down to the water and dropped us off, and Guy drove the boat around to the dock at his folks’ house. It was pretty cool. Next time I have to remember to wear my sunglasses, because it was really windy and the sun’s reflection off the water about blinded me. I think it will be nice to go out when the weather is a little warmer. There’s something really peaceful about being out on the water. I think the lack of connection to solid earth is kind of liberating, too.

The skirt I got Bree for her birthday fit perfectly. She and her boyfriend Jamie were at the house doing some electrical work (Jamie is an electrician). We got to sing happy birthday to Bree and eat some really good birthday cake before heading back to Atlanta.

I got in a mood last night before Guy and I headed back to my place, but I haven’t been in one for a while so I guess I was due.

Kidding.

Kinda.

No, seriously…I think that I’m at the point with him where if I freak out about something every now and then, it’s a good thing because it means I care that much. Is that weird? Not that I was freaking out last night…I just got in a mood.

Sigh.

We talked about it and I felt better. Today, after we got back from gorging ourselves at Lebbonee’s, we took a big fat nap, and it was so nice just crashing like that in the middle of the day. Once we woke up (like, three hours later!), Guy headed home and I tried to run. My belly was so full and groggy that I went two miles before calling it quits. I did a little cleaning up and laundry, and then I packed a bag to come spent the night at Guy’s place.

We’ve been spending most nights together lately. It’s really nice. There’s something about snoozing next to him and waking up to him that is very comforting and safe.

I’ve been feeling especially into him lately. I don’t know if there’s a specific reason for it, but that’s just what I’m feeling. We figure we’ve been really dating each other for about seven months now, and we met about ten months ago. Not too shabby, I say. :)

Anyway, I guess I’m going to go putz around until I get sleepy enough to go to bed. We’re both pretty awake, and I took my allergy medicine a little while ago that keeps me up. I hope I can get some decent sleep tonight though…I need to start the week off right!

Goodnight!
