no, I’m not hawaiian

I get asked that every now and then, usually by men in malls who want to sell me cell phone accessories.

(Yes, someone asked me that tonight.)

I actually ran today!! Yes! Well, to be more correct, I walked most of the four miles, but it was my first time in running shoes in a long, long time, and my legs and lungs just couldn’t keep up. I don’t think it will take me long to get back in shape, but the key is I need to run on a regular basis.

I repeat: I need to run on a regular basis.

That was more for my sake than yours. I have a half marathon coming up in April and I’m just getting started on my training. I will, however, finish that race if it kills me. I will walk the whole way if I have to! But goodness, I’m hoping I don’t have to, because that would take forfreakingever.

I got some stuff today. I know, I’m broke, and now I’m even more broke, but it’s all stuff that I needed pretty bad and have been thinking of buying for a while now. I got the new iLife 04 package and played around with Garage Band for a bit before I realized that I am no musician. I also got Norton SystemWorks, which has been scanning my computer for disk errors and viruses for the greater part of today.

Now I’m going to get to work on some freelance Web work. I will probably play around with some of my trial Palm software later tonight before I hit the sack. Oh! I forgot to mention…I was woken up several times last night and early this morning by a very loud family next door. The loudest member of the family is a small child who likes to scream and cry. I left a note outside the room I think it’s coming from but honestly I can’t be sure…the acoustics in this hotel are strange.

Anyway, I’m crossing my fingers for a peaceful night’s sleep!

One day at dusk, Zhuang Zi dreamed he had turned into a butterfly. Flapping his wings, he felt like a butterfly and was tremendously delighted. At that moment, he forgot entirely that he was Zhuang Zi. After a while, he came to realize that the gleeful butterfly was actually himself. So was it Zhuang Zi who had changed into a butterfly in the dream or the other way around?

Zhuang Zi can be the butterfly and the butterfly can be him.
