Yesterday was a great day of riding! It snowed all day, and that meant that the mountains were covered in fluffy, powdery stuff. It was fantastic! The conditions make such a big difference in my riding. When I know that I won’t die from a fall onto hard ice, I gain confidence and ride better. I actually feel like I am decent now and don’t feel like a true beginner anymore. It’s a nice feeling!
I did do a faceplant into the snow that hurt quite a bit, and I had goggle problems which meant I rode most of the day with snow pelting me in the face and in my eyes, but overall, it was a terrific day and I felt like I had some excellent runs.

Today I am taking a much needed day off. I am so sore! I am sore in my shoulders, neck, biceps, abs, thighs, calves, butt…you name it, it’s sore.![]()
I’ll be riding again tomorrow and Saturday, and then I’ll be leaving to head back to Atlanta on Sunday morning. Early Sunday morning. As in 4:45 a.m. Sunday morning!
Here’s another photo for your viewing pleasure…it’s the balcony of the condo where I’m staying. It’s covered in snow!

Today it’s actually not snowing, and it’s warmed up to a balmy 30 degrees or so. I hear it’s really cold in Atlanta right now, so I hope it’s warmer when I get home!
